Hydrafacial Review with Bare Med Spa

Ever since I started blogging on top of my full time job, not that I am complaining, I have completely pushed taking care of myself under the rug.  That is why I chose to take better care of myself as my new years resolution.  I think it is important to be able to take a break for mental health and hit the pause button. I am so excited to partner with Bare Med Spa and share with you my latest hydrafacial experience with them!

From the minute I walked into Bare Med Spa, I was treated like a princess! The waiting area was so glam and chic, I wouldn’t mind decorating my home like this!  The staff was so friendly and inviting. They offered me champagne or wine while I waited and filled out forms about my general health and medications.  They were so helpful in answering any questions I had regarding the paperwork.  As sort of an aesthetic amateur, I chose to try the hydrafacial.

    HYDRAFACIAL BREAKDOWN

Hydrafacials are good for any skin type.  They are used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, tighten pores, lighten and brighten skin, reduce hyper-pigmentation, acne and oily skin.  Hydrafacials are basically like power-washing your skin while adding a multivitamin to it.  Our skin gets exposed to free radicals and pollutants the moment we step outside, so it is important to deeply cleanse and protect against it.

Hydrafacials involve a step by step process to cleanse, evenly exfoliate and extract to remove impurities and dead skin cells while at the same time replenishing vital nutrients including Antioxidants, Peptides and Hyaluronic Acid. It feels like a cool wet suction on your face.  You can feel and see results immediately after.  These effects last for a week or two and many people get hydrafacials monthly.

    VERDICT

You guys know the “beautified” filter on snapchat?  That is how I felt like when I left.  My skin actually felt lighter, and it was actually visibly brighter!  My cheeks felt like silk and I couldn’t stop touching my face.  My boyfriend even noticed when I got home.  He told me my skin was “glowing.” And, no I didn’t coach him on what to say, haha! The verdict is I will definitely be visiting Bare Med Spa again and asking for a hydrafacial!  It was so nice to hit the pause button, relax, and take care of my skin!

I would love to hear about your favorite treatments that you have tried!  Leave your thoughts in the comments below.  I’m always wanting to learn more about skincare!

    Spring is Blooming with JORD

Watch by JORD // Frankie series in Koa & Ash

With the weather in the 70’s last weekend, I can definitely say that spring is almost here!  This watch is the perfect accessory for my spring wardrobe.  It is no secret that I love wearing neutral colors, so I especially love the ash face color and koa grain. I think this watch is the perfect combination of dressy and causal because of the sleek face mixed with the earthy, wooden feel.   This watch is so versatile and can be paired with so many outfits this spring.  It was the perfect addition to this causal outfit with a blush top and jeans. It would also look great styled with a floral dress and denim jacket.

If the neutral look isn’t for you, thats fine! JORD has so many different styles to choose from! I especially like this watch in the plum and emerald color. I am also loving this rose gold color with the extra bling.  These watches would make such a statement with any outfit this spring.  Also, bonus, they offer men’s watches as well!  There are even unisex options to share with your man, if that is your thing!

My favorite thing about this watch is that they size the watch for you before they mail it to you.  This is such a huge deal for me because I have such tiny wrists and I always have to get links taken out. I was so happy to take it out of the box and have it perfectly fit my wrist! Don’t know your wrist size? They provide you with downloadable wrist sizing instructions with a measuring tape you can use! They literally couldn’t make it easier for you! They also provide a cleaning cloth that comes in the beautiful wooden box.  Talk about brilliant packaging!

JORD is putting together this amazing giveaway for my awesome followers! You could win a $100 gift code to put towards your very own JORD watch! To enter this giveaway just click the link below:

Everyone who enters will receive a $25 code towards any watch! The contest will close on 3/5/2017 at 11:59 pm. Both the $100 and the 25$ codes will be good until 4/30/17. Good luck to all who enter!!

    Wooden Wristwatch

Cozy Layers for Transitioning to Spring

    layers

Chambray shirt (also love this one) // gray cardigan (similar here) // felt fedora hat // jeans // purse // nude pumps

Happy Saturday!  Today I wanted to share this outfit with you and talk about layering your outfits for transitioning or changing weather.  Here in the midwest, if you don’t layer your clothing, you won’t survive! Okay maybe I’m being a bit dramatic but here we are very accustomed to weather changing drastically through the week or even the day. For example today it was 20 degrees when I left the house this morning and it was almost 50 degrees by the time I returned late afternoon. The weather changes so quickly here, which is why I take layering so seriously.

I think chambray shirts are so great for layering because they are warm, but not too heavy!  They are also the perfect mix of dressy and casual.  You can throw on a long sleeve shirt or a tank under it and a sweater or coat over it like I did here. Chambray is also super versatile and can be taken off or unbuttoned!  My favorite way to wear it is with a big chunky cardigan like the one I’m wearing here.  It was warmer earlier in the day and when it cooled off in the evening, I just threw my sweater back on!

Do hats count as a layer??  Even if they don’t, I love the extra style it adds to this look! I am constantly finding ways to incorporate this hat into my repertoire.  I think it is so hipster-chic. I am also not sure that is a thing either, but I like it!

This layered outfit is the perfect look for date night without looking like you are trying to hard.  Right after we took these photos my boyfriend and I went out to a new pizza restaurant we have been wanting to try.  I like to reward him for going out and taking blog photos for me!  Pizza is our favorite!

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

The Statement Piece: Black Leather Jacket

    must

Blanknyc black leather jacket // black cami // crescent necklace // jeans // black handbag old (similar) // over the knee boots

My black leather jacket is one of the most worn articles of clothing in my closet. I am a firm believer in investing in items that are versatile and that can be worn so many different ways.  I love this BLANKNYC faux leather moto jacket from Nordstrom. It is 35% off right now making it less than $60. In my book, that makes this jacket a total STEAL! It is a must have for layering this spring.

Leather jackets make the perfect statement piece and can transform any outfit.  There are endless possibilities to styling it. It adds the perfect edge to a dress and heels. You can throw it over a slouchy knit tee or sweater with jeans. My personal favorite these days is to pair it with a pair of joggers and comfy tennis shoes. It also looks great with a dressy top and over the knee boots like I did here!

I can’t get over how much I love this silk, lace trimmed camisole. It is so soft and delicate making it the perfect contrast of texture with this leather jacket. This camisole is from the Who What Wear collection at Target and it was under $20. I couldn’t find the exact one online, but I linked a few similar ones that I think would be perfect! I also think this camisole would look great layered over a white t-shirt this spring!  The possibilities are endless!

I would love to hear your favorite way to wear your leather jacket! Hope you are all having a great week. Thank you so much for stopping by!

    valentines day gifts for him

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide for Him

Why is shopping for the person you know the best, always the hardest? For some reason every holiday, I am stumped on what to buy for my boyfriend! I hope that I’m not the only person that has this problem and thought I would try to help other people as I am on the search for the perfect Valentine’s gift for my guy by making this gift guide!

There are a variety of different routes you can go with this gift guide whether it be more practical, or more romantic. I have also included things at different price points as I know after the holiday’s the last thing anyone wants to do is buy more presents! I also included things that I know my boyfriend, Nate, needs and also things that he already has that I would buy for him again if I had the chance! I always love hearing what other people get their significant other’s for holidays because it always gives me ideas!

    1. Skagen Leather Card Case: I love this because it is so slim and slips right in the pocket of your man’s jeans or shorts!
    2. MVMT watch:  This looks almost exactly like the watch I got my boyfriend for his birthday last year. Let me just tell you he LOVES it and wears it every day! You can’t go wrong with this and its under $100!
    3. Heart socks: I just couldn’t resist these socks for Valentine’s day! I can’t get over the heart detail!
    4. Ray-Ban Classic Wayfarer Sunglasses: This is another gift that I got Nate a few years ago! He is an avid golfer and is in the sun a lot so good sunglasses are an essential! You can’t go wrong with these classic frames. They will never go out out style!
    5. Striped swim trunks: Hopefully Nate isn’t reading this because this is what I’m getting for him this year! We are going on a trip to Mexico at the end of February and these will perfect!
    6. Clarisonic cleanser: Okay so how hard is it to get your man into skin care?? I think this may do the trick. This is also something I would love to have for myself….or maybe share and get two different brush heads for it!
    7. Yves Saint Laurent L’Homme cologne: I bought this for Nate last year for Valentine’s day and I can’t get over how good it smells!
    8. Happy Socks: I had to include these socks as well because no man can ever have enough socks. It is an accessory for them! Nate loves this brand.
    9. Patagonia quarter zip pullover: Such a great wardrobe essential and its under $100!
    10. Travel bag: This is also something I plan to get Nate for our trip to put all of his grooming supplies into! I love the screen printed “Hey Handsome” on the inside too!
    11. Heart boxers: I think these speak for themselves. I couldn’t resist these!
    12. Nike Free Run shoes: These are the most comfortable running shoes. Nate and I both have a pair of these. Help your man to stay true to those new year resolutions!!

Colorblock coat sold out (similar here and here) // fuzzy sweater // OTK boots // saddle bag purse similar // necklace // jeans // all black sunglasses 20% off with HEATHER20

What is colorblocking you ask? It is any time you wear multiple colors in the same outfit! Traditional colorblocking is done by mixing bright colors that are complimentary. Think of mixing orange and purple, or red and blue. Mixing those colors may sound insane, but colorblocking is meant to say “Eff off” to fashion rules! In my opinion, fashion rules were meant to be broken, if they weren’t then fashion would be BORING!!

Instead of mixing bright colors, this coat mixes neutrals! If you haven’t been able to tell lately, neutrals are kind of my jam! I love browns, grays, blacks, beige, tan, and white. I love how this coat mixes tan, gray and charcoal together! This coat is so versatile because I can wear it with black or brown accessories and it doesn’t clash (although I’m into mixing black and brown anyways)! Colorblocking can turn any outfit from ordinary to extraordinary!

While this coat may be the main event of my outfit, I have to talk about my sweater. It is so soft and cozy! I love how oversized and forgiving it is. It is perfect to pair with jeans and boots like I did, or even leggings and a pair of leopard flats. My personal favorite thing about this sweater are the slouchy sleeves!

This necklace is my favorite new addition to my accessories! I was waitlisted for a few months for this baby and it finally became available! It is actually two necklaces that you can wear separate or together. The first is a delicate choker and the second piece is this cute pave crescent pendant! They each have three adjustable clasps so you can wear it at any length! I seriously wear this with everything I’m obsessed!

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! Happy Saturday!

How To Style A Bralette + Giveaway!

    black and pink outfit

    bralette with oversized pink sweater

Molly Bralette by MADI Apparel // oversized sweater // black jeans // lace up heels // black choker // gold lariat necklace

Happy Tuesday ya’ll! I wanted to share with you how I styled this Lux Lace Molly Bralette by MADI Apparel. Bralettes are quickly becoming one of my new favorite staples in my wardrobe. They are comfy enough for a night in, and stylish enough to add that extra little somethin’ somethin’ under your favorite top.

Have I mentioned how comfortable this bralette is? There are no wires or molded cups, the fabric just magically molds to you. The elastic band and straps allow for less structure, which makes you feel less constricted. This bralette provides all of these amazing things without sacrificing the amount of support!

Not only is it comfortable, but it is also so darn pretty! The floral print lace is just so eye catching and plays off of different skin tones so well. I love that I can wear this all year long styled under a tank, tee, or oversized sweater like I did here!

My favorite thing about this bralette, and all of the other items made by MADI Apparel, is that for every item purchased, they donate a pair of underwear to a women in need. Fun fact: underwear is the most under donated item of clothing. MADI stands for make a difference intimates and they certainly do make a difference! All of their items are made from bamboo cotton which makes them sustainable, ethical, and sooo soft! It also means that you can wash them over and over and they will never lose their shape! I also own their lace panty and sleep shirt and I’m pretty obsessed! These products make the most perfect gifts for holidays, birthday’s and bachelorette parties!

I am so excited to collaborate with MADI Apparel to give away this Molly Bralette! Plus  you can receive 10% off their etsy page with code MINT10!

I drew from all 18 people that entered and the lucky winner of the giveaway is….

rose gold gift guide under 50

Rose Gold Gift Guide Under $50

fuzzy sweater // midi rings // card case // water bottle // fringe scarf // candle // phone case // sunglasses // quilted bag

Ever since I came down with a cold, all I have been doing is watching Hallmark Christmas movies, drinking hot tea, and shopping online! I have been trying to shop for everyone on my list and it has been so hard not but buy everything for myself! After purchasing a few gifts the price really seems to add up, so I thought I would share this rose gold gift guide. Everything is under $50! I am definitely going to be buying a few of these for myself!

I am a total girly girl and I love all things pink, even my wine. The term “Yes Way Rose” really holds true to me, which is why I love this phone case! We also know that from my post a few weeks ago I am obsessed with this pink scarf. It is the softest coziest thing and I find my self wearing it with just about everything. Speaking of cozy, this fuzzy eyelash sweater looks so cozy and it comes in a cream color also if you aren’t a pink lover like me.

This Kate Spade card case is perfect because I really only carry a few cards with me and I am constantly switching purses and this makes it so easy to grab and it is small enough to fit in a clutch! I had to include this quilted rose gold bag. It is so fun and would make the perfect accessory for NYE or all of the upcoming holiday parties and it is less that $12! This Jonathan Adler candle would make the best hostess gift to any of those parties as well!

Sunglasses are kind of my thing and I own four pairs by this brand. They make the most fun shapes and have all kinds of different colors and mirrored lenses. I think they look designer but at a much more affordable price point.

Midi rings are so fun and feminine and I feel like they make your fingers look even longer. The rose gold color adds that extra touch of bling. I am obsessed with these water bottles because I drink water all day at work. This bottle will keep your drink cold for hours!

I hope this list helps all of your gift buying a little easier! Tis the season!

I don’t know about you guys but after the crazy Thanksgiving weekend, I have been living in my oversized knits and joggers. We started the Thanksgiving celebrations on Wednesday night with my family and all day Thursday. Usually I meet up with friends on Thursday night, but I was wiped out! My boyfriend and I spent six hours in the car driving to and from to his parents’ house for lunch on Friday. We returned to go out to dinner with my cousins from Denver.  Saturday we decided to have a relaxing night and went to see the new Brad Pitt movie “Allied.” It was so good! It is no surprise that I came down with a cold and ever since I have been craving hot tea and comfy clothes!

I love these joggers because you get the comfort of sweat pants while they are still more fitted and feminine. They are so versatile and can be paired with an off the shoulder sweater or a t-shirt and cardigan. Plus I’ve been needing that expanding waist bane after all the food I’ve eaten! I love the pink aztec detail on this oversized cardigan, not to mention the fringe at the bottom! It is sold out in pink, but I linked the black color and a similar one which I also love! I found this pom beanie and am obsessed with it! It keeps my ears so warm in the cold weather and its so soft.

The rest of the weekend I spent pinteresting and decorating the house for Christmas! I still have a few finishing touches to make. I am loving the minimalist, neutral decor. It must be the Norwegian in me! I will post some photos as soon as I get everything finished, but if you would like to follow along on pinterest click here.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and didn’t get sick like me! Happy Monday loves!
