How to Style a Blanket Scarf this Fall

Blanket Scarf // Tan Sweater // White Jeans // Ankle boots // Burgundy Purse // Sunglasses

Thanksgiving is almost here!! This blanket scarf, chunky sweater, and winter white would make the perfect outfit combo for Thanksgiving day!

If you remember this post I made a few weeks ago, then you know scarves are one of my go to items for fall…they are so soft and cozy and there’s something so comforting about wrapping yourself in a huge scarf! I love to dress them up with jeans and heels or my ultimate favorite is with jeans and boots or booties. I love the look of this blanket scarf with these booties – it makes it girly while still being cozy.

One of my favorite ways to wear blanket scarves is with white jeans. I love the way the color in the scarf just pops against these white jeans and this tan sweater!

My exact ankle boots are sold out but I linked a few pairs that are similar. I also bought this scarf last year at Express, but I linked one that is almost exactly the same!  Sorry to post so many “similar” items, but a few of these items were purchased last year and are no longer available.

What is your favorite way to style a blanket scarf? I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

    The Perfect Burgundy Fall Coat

    burgundy and gray outfit

Burgundy Coat // Gray Sweater sold out similar here and here // Ripped Jeans // Gray Boots // Burgundy Purse similar here and here // Quay Sunglasses // BaubleBar Ring

It finally cooled down over the weekend here in Kansas City and I couldn’t be more excited about it. I am so excited to bring out all of my scarves and coats. I find something so comforting about being able to wrap up in something to stay warm. This cold weather made me realize why this baby is the perfect burgundy fall coat!

I love burgundy for a number of reasons. It is very close to purple which is my favorite color. I also love it because earth tones are so perfect for fall. Burgundy compliments the fall landscape so well with all the different hues that the turning leaves give. I also feel like burgundy is incredibly neutral and compliments other colors like pink, navy, gray, black, white, and leopard. Wait, is leopard a color? In my world it is!

I bought this coat last year without knowing how much I would actually wear it. I was initially drawn to its color, but fell in love with its coziness. It is so comfortable and provides the perfect amount of warmth while still being cute. It can be dressed up when paired with a dress and heels or worn with a sweater and boots for a more casual look. Its versatility is one of the reasons it is the perfect burgundy fall coat!

This look would make the perfect outfit for Thanksgiving. This off the shoulder gray sweater is the softest material. It is sold out but here are some similar ones here and here. Here  I practically live in these ripped jeans.  They look so cute with ankle boots, tennis shoes, or these above the knee boots. These boots are so flattering and very comfortable for the heel height.

Hope you all have a magnificent Monday! Thank you so much for reading!

    Holiday Gift Guide

    1 | 2 | 3  | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8

Can you believe Thanksgiving is NEXT week?! That means that Christmas is just around the corner! I don’t know about you guys, but I hate last minute holiday shopping. That’s why I wanted to put together this holiday gift guide to make searching for the perfect gift a little bit easier.

The best part about this gift guide is it has gift ideas that would work for any age, like this scarf or these earrings. It also includes some gender neutral gifts, like this speaker and these bluetooth headphones.  For the wine lover these “Liquid Therapy” stemless wine glasses are a must have!

I have to confess, I included this purse for selfish reasons. I have been on the hunt for a gray purse for months now. I haven’t been able to find the right one, until I stumbled upon this one. I love the studs and the suede, and the chain just adds the perfect amount of glam. I just feel like this would be the most perfect gift!

I have had an obsession with Jo Malone since I visited my best friend in New York City a few years ago. We walked into one of her stores in the West Village and I instantly fell in love with her scents. The perfume in english pear and freesia is my go to everyday perfume. This candle would be such a great gift to spruce up the home for the holidays!

A watch is always a great gift to get. I would know because for the last two years, my boyfriend has gotten me a watch! I love this Cluse watch, and it comes in several different colors like this gray and pink color. It is such a classic chic watch that never goes out of style!

Happy holiday shopping season! Hopefully this holiday gift guide helps!

“Don’t ever let a person tell you that leggings aren’t pants. You don’t need that negativity in your life.” – Unknown

In my opinion leggings were one of the best inventions, ever.  I love pairing leggings with oversized sweaters in cold weather and tanks or tees in warm weather. They are one of the most comfortable item of clothing and can be dressed up for an evening out or down for a more causal day outfit.  Leggings are so versatile and can be worn year round, which leads me to why I love faux leather leggings so much.

Faux leather leggings are so amazing because you get the comfort of leggings but the look of something dressy enough to wear out to dinner or with the girls.  They also take your outfit to a new level – a little more than just wearing basic leggings.  Faux leather leggings add a shiny texture that makes them a little dressier. I think they would be the perfect option for holiday parties or Thanksgiving day (hello expandable waistband!). Everyone needs a pair in their closet.

I chose to go monochromatic for this look by adding this black and white checkered top, over the knee boots, and a faux fur vest for some added warmth. I also love wearing these leggings with a tunic sweater and lace up flats. They also look cute with a chambray top, scarf, and floppy hat!

Faux fur leggings add comfort and style to any outfit! Plus if you are anything like me, you basically live in leggings. I love these Spanx faux leather leggings because they are seamless and so comfy! I also like these which are less than $20! You can’t go wrong with either pair!

I would love to hear how you guys like wearing leggings this fall or winter! Hope you are all having a great week!

Hi babes! I hope all of you had a great weekend! I had a busy weekend with lots of friends in town for one of my sorority sister’s wedding! It was a blast, but I am looking forward to relaxing this week! I wanted to share this blush bell sleeve top with you all.  Bell sleeves are one of my favorite trends for fall and I found this one for less than $20!

I wore this outfit for a date night with my boyfriend on Friday night to our favorite sushi restaurant. The cutout-back detail and long ties adds that extra feminine touch to this top. I chose to pair this top with some ripped jeans and heels. I am obsessing over this blush color for fall and I feel like it is a color that looks great on anyone! I think blush looks great paired with grey, brown, or perhaps my favorite pairing, burgundy.

I have been living in these jeans lately. They are such an amazing staple piece for fall and winter. They look great paired with boots and a cardigan, or a causal tee and tennis shoes. The versatility of these jeans makes it easy to wear them on repeat.

These heels were such an amazing find! They have a designer look with at a much more affordable price point. It is an added bonus that the heel is not super high, which makes these shoes super comfortable!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Cozy Pink Scarf Styled Two Ways

I picked up this cozy pink scarf recently, and it seems like I have been wearing it with just about everything! Sometimes you don’t know what your closet is missing until you come across it in the store. Thats how I felt when I walked by this scarf, then when I felt it, I was sold.

This free people scarf has been on my radar for a few weeks now, but didn’t know if it was worth paying nearly $50 for. It was a little easier to justify buying this one for less than half of the cost! The fact that it comes in this dreamy pink color was just an added bonus!

Lately, I have been wrapping myself up in a scarf or poncho in place of a jacket. I love the cozy look it adds to this easy swing dress and boots. I think the pink compliments this charcoal gray so well. It is easy to fold up and place in your purse instead of being stuck holding your jacket all day.

This dress is super comfy and looks great under any jacket. I paired it with these great boots, but it would also look great with ankle boots or lace up flats! (fun fact: these boots are a knock off for these Vince Camuto’s #bargain)

This scarf also works tied traditionally and styled over this oversized sweater. It is chunky so it really keeps your neck warm! I love the way it looks with this brown sweater, ripped jeans, and boots. The pink adds just the right amount of color to these neutrals.

Both of these outfits are perfect for fall and would be great for Thanksgiving day. My apologies now if you get sick of seeing me wearing this scarf all the time! #sorryimnotsorry

    Thanksgiving style favorites

    Thanksgiving Style Favorites

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I’m already thinking about what to wear! Thanksgiving style is a real thing, ya’ll. We have to dress to impress and to hide that food baby!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year for many different reasons, but for the sake of this post, I will try to limit those to five.

    1. The best part of Thanksgiving is seeing all of my family! We cram forty people into my parents’ house and its the only time of year I get to see my cousins, aunts, and uncles from out of town. Every year there seems to be a new baby that I get to hold, which I love.
    2. Another reason why I love this holiday is because of the amazing food! It is the only time of year that is socially acceptable to stuff yourself, go back for seconds, take a nap, and make another plate when you wake up!
    3. Black Friday is a tradition that runs deep in my family. For decades we have been waking up at the crack of dawn to go shopping all day. It is something that all generations can do together. At the end of the day, we all come back to my parents’ house and have a show-and-tell. It’s always great to see who got the best bargains of the day!
    4. Thanksgiving style cannot be ignored. I always love being comfy, but it is important to leave plenty of room for food! I love these high waisted jeans, to help suck it all in, paired with this bell sleeved sweater. I love the way this  velvet, burgundy choker and handbag compliment this outfit. I have been eying these ankle boots as well and they come in burgundy too!
    5. I have to add “friend reunions” to the list. Thanksgiving is the one time of year that all of my friends come in town at the same time! Out of my five closest friends, only two of them live in Kansas City. I love this time of year because it means we all get to be together at the same time!

I would love to hear all of your Thanksgiving style ideas and reasons why you like Thanksgiving! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

This pink bomber jacket is a staple item for your wardrobe this fall. It adds the perfect flair of femininity to this tomboy trend!

If you read my last post, you know how much I love bomber jackets for fall!  They are so versatile and can add the perfect edge to any outfit.  It seems like every store I walk into I see a large selection, which made it harder to decide which one to buy.

I found myself asking, “should I go with the classic black because it goes with everything or should I get olive green for a fun military look or maybe the fun floral print for an edgy vibe?” Which leaves me feeling overwhelmed because I can’t make up my mind.  If you know me, you know I have to research all options before purchasing.  Shopping around for the perfect item can be stressful, which is why I wanted to share with you all this amazing pink bomber jacket I found for less than $30!

From the moment I saw this jacket, I knew that it was the one. Whenever I am at Target, I can’t help but stop in their Women’s clothing section. They have such great on-trend items for such a great price! They don’t skimp on quality either. I was immediately drawn to the color and print of this jacket. It is so pretty, feminine-chic, and adds a girly twist to this tomboy look. It’s also the perfect weight for this transitional period between seasons.

I can’t wait to wear this jacket with other outfits this fall. I am thinking it would look good over an all-black outfit for the perfect contrast or with a pair of olive jeans to add to the tomboy aspect. I even think it would look great worn over a dress and heels!

I would love to hear how all of you are pairing your bomber jackets this fall! I hope everyone has a fabulous week!

    Top Five Fall Trends

    1. |  2. | 3. | 4. | 5.

I hope all of you are having a fabulous fall Friday! Today I wanted to share my favorite fall trends. It was really hard to choose just five, but I tried to narrow it down to the most relevant and accessible trends. Here they are:

    1. Raw Hem Denim – This might be my favorite trend this season, and probably because it makes me nostalgic of when I was in high school and I used to let the hem out of all of my jeans. Not only was I six feet tall, but it was also in style. I think this trend adds something to the “destroyed” look. I also really like the look of the asymmetrical hem, which are short in front and long in the back like these jeans.

    2. Bell Sleeves – I mean come ON!  How much more flirty and feminine can you get? I love the girly effect and length they can add to your arm. The longer the sleeve length, the better! I also really like this bell sleeve top

    3. Statement Chokers – Hello, 90’s! The nineties have totally come back in style with trends like t-shirts under cami dresses, denim jackets, boyfriend jeans, and the ever-amazing statement choker. I know I’m not the only one that owned those tattoo chokers back in the day!

    4. Bomber Jackets – I had a hard time choosing which photo to include for this one because I am seriously OBSESSED with this trend. You can go so many different directions with this:  puffy, quilted, silky, velvet, cropped, the list goes on! I really like the army green color or pale pink, or this amazing floral one.

    5. Velvet – All velvet everything. Velvet dresses, velvet bomber jackets, velvet statement chokers, velvet shoes, velvet skirts, and last but not least – the velvet jumpsuit pictured above. This trend is seriously going to take over!

Some other trends I didn’t include in my top five but also love:

    6. Lace-up – I am loving lace up sweaters and tops for fall like this one. I honestly could do an entire post on sweaters for fall!

    7. Wide Leg Pants – Such a classic, chic look paired with a button-down, silk cami, or fitted crop top for a night out. I have my eye on these wide leg pants.

I hope all of you feel like shopping for fall clothes after reading this! I know I do. Happy Friday!

    Fringe Poncho and Over-the-Knee Boots

Fringe Poncho c/o Tulip // Similar Poncho // Dolce Vita Boots // Floppy Wool Hat // Joe’s Jeans (45% off) // Céline Solo Clutch

I was asked to take part in this month’s “Tulip Twist,” which is a style challenge put on by a local boutique in Kansas City called Tulip.  Myself, along with two other ladies, were chosen to compete in this contest to determine who styled this poncho the best.  I would really appreciate if you vote for me by going to their Facebook page (here).

One of the many reasons why I love fall is because I get to jazz up basic outfits by adding a sweater and boots.  I love long cardigans, big chunky sweaters, and especially ponchos.  Ponchos are amazing because they are basically like walking around wrapped up in your favorite blanket with holes for your head and arms!  This one is seriously so cozy! You can also add a long sleeved shirt underneath for a cooler day. I also like the many accessories you can add to an outfit in fall, like a scarf or a hat.  This wool hat is the perfect hat to wear to brunch or shopping and really adds some sass your look.

I have been searching for the perfect over-the-knee boot for a few months now. I ordered 4 different pairs and they were all either too short or too wide. Its hard for me to find a pair tall and narrow enough because I am six feet tall. I finally found these Dolce Vita boots and I am in love! I love how high they go up on my thigh and they are just the perfect width to wear over a pair of skinny jeans or with a dress. I also am really digging the almond toe with these. I think they will be a regular in my wardrobe this fall and winter.

I hope you are all having an amazing week! There’s only one more day until the weekend!

    xoxo,

    Heather
